What does registering with an electricity retailer involve?
Registering with an electricity supplier is the process by which an individual, an SME or a company contracts electricity supply with a supply company. It may be required for a new supply point, or in situations involving switching, reactivation or contracting the service.
It is a common confusion: the supplier is not the company that physically distributes the electricity, but the one that manages the contract, the tariff and the billing. Choosing the right electricity supplier is therefore what allows the contract to match real consumption needs.

When do you need to register electricity with a retailer?
Registering with an electricity retailer may be necessary in several situations. The most common are:
registering a new supply point in a home, premises or warehouse
reactivating a supply point that has long been disconnected
electricity contracting for a new business or company
change of account holder requiring contract review
finding a tariff better suited to the consumption profile
Not every situation involves exactly the same procedure, but in all cases it is important to review the contract terms carefully to avoid errors, overcharges or a tariff poorly matched to actual use.
